The great free-kick debate...

After Ronaldo’s free-kick last night a “little debate” has started in the office. Here’s a few to get ye going (in no particularly order):

Roberto Carlos – Brazil vs France
David Beckham – England vs Greece
Ronaldinho – Brazil vs Germany

Recruitment

As the new season is approaching the Gaffer is looking for new talent to ensure Almaty fulfill their potential and win some silverware. With Johnny T Enright departing for foreign soils and James Murph moving to the Pale the squad is somewhat depleted. The Gaffer is also conscious of the fact that the average age of the squad is quite high. Jim “Lamps” Butler and Alex “Vote for me” O’Donovan both will be both in their thirties come the opening game of the season and there are concerns that their legs may not be able to make playing two games in two weeks. Tadhg “Fats” O’Connell is also reportedly 5 stone overweight and his pre-season training has been hampered by a groin injury.

Almaty team night out

A date for Almaty's team night out has yet to be confirmed. A tribunal has been investigating rumours that Gaffer Spratt had absconded with the team night-out fund. Spratt has strenuously denied any embezzlement accusations!

An opposition has been lined-up for a friendly game prior to the team night-out... Alex's Bum-chums (aka Citco Catholics!).
